NoNeed is a five-piece reggae-rock fusion band thriving in Tampa Bay, Florida, but quickly stretching its influence across the state. Rooted in a strong reggae sound, the band’s sound covers a variety of genres, from metal to funk to neofusion jazz to pop. The guys of NoNeed all met through the rich music scene in the area around the University of South Florida, but they each bring a distinct musical background to the table; when listening to the band, you’ll probably hear influences of pop/punk, jazz, and of course reggae, blending all of the guys’ various strengths into one amazing style. NoNeed lives for the live music-making, but they are well into the digital outlets; their music is available on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, and other sites.
The band’s 3-year history includes some impressive music-making. NoNeed has put out two discs already: Got No Fear (EP), and All That We Are (LP). They frequently take weekend tours that will bring their music to scenes across Florida, and they maintain a residency in Ft. Myers Beach. Some of their highlights include playing at the Chillin’ Music Festival and three years at the USF Homecoming Carnival; the band also won the inaugural USF Ultimate Bull Talent Show in 2013. During this career, they’ve supported major acts such as Ballyhoo! and The Supervillains, as well as other big names.
In the next year, NoNeed plans to continue making awesome sounds and sharing their love for music with the state of Florida and beyond. Watch out for the Spring Baked Tour coming up; plans for a summer tour are also in the works. Another EP is due to be dropped in summer 2015. Of course, they will continue to tour to more great Floridian music scenes, but they will also play with more national headlining acts to increase their national presence.
